Having an inventory management system such as FIFO in place is therefore crucial. However, perfecting your inventory management system can be challenging and costly.

  • You need to be able to meet customer demand. If you can’t, they may end up looking elsewhere! ‘New trends’ and seasonal fluctuations are something that you need to be able to handle, which can become even more tricky due to the nature of the products that are being sold.

It becomes slightly more complex when dealing with products that have expiry dates since you must decide what to do with the product when it is sent back.
