Data Protection Policy statement

 

The Storage Place is committed to a policy of protecting the rights and privacy of individuals, staff and others in accordance with The Data Protection Act 2018. The policy applies to all customers & their customers & The Storage Place staff.

As a matter of good practice, other organisations and individuals working with The Storage Place, and who have access to personal information, will be expected to have their own policy & provide The Storage Place with the details.

 

Purpose of data held by The Storage Place

 

The Storage Place only stores relevant personal data on the following basis –

Staff administration detail & records that staff have access to on request.

To carry out our services for order dispatch management, this is held on our software management system, the companies providing these systems also have their own policies & can be obtained on request.

We store customers names, addresses, phone numbers & email addresses that are mandatory to ensure delivery services are carried out effectively. This is held on our third-party CRM system.

We do store relevant personal details for staff in order to process wages & employment matters accordingly. Any sensitive data i.e. medical information is held in personal files in locked filing cabinets & only accessed by authorised staff.

Customers through our relevant software can access details connected to their business.

Customers using our fulfilment software system are issued with an SLA.

 

Data Protection Principles

 

The customer, as the client of The Storage Place own their data even though it is stored on our software.

The customer is free to use their data according to their own data protection policies.

If a customer decides to terminate their agreement with The Storage Place, they can request us to delete data from the software they have access to.

 

Disclosures of Customer Data

 

We may have to share your personal data with the parties set out below:

  • Other companies in our group who provide services to us.
  • Service providers who provide IT and system administration services.
  • Professional advisers including lawyers, bankers, auditors and insurer.
  • Government bodies that require us to report processing activities.
  • Third parties to whom we sell, transfer, or merge parts of our business or our assets.

We require all third parties to whom we transfer your data to respect the security of your personal data and to treat it in accordance with the law. We only allow such third parties to process your personal data for specified purposes and in accordance with our instructions.

We share your personal data within our group of companies which involves transferring your data outside the UK and European Economic Area (EEA).

We are subject to the provisions of the General Data Protection Regulations that protect your personal data. Where we transfer your data to third parties outside of the UK or EEA, we will ensure that certain safeguards are in place to ensure a similar degree of security for your personal data. As such:

If none of the above safeguards is available, we may request your explicit consent to the specific transfer. You will have the right to withdraw this consent at any time.

You have the right to request access, correction, erasure, restriction, transfer, to object to processing, to portability of data and (where the lawful ground of processing is consent) to withdraw consent.
