As Tyne and Wear whipped itself into a football frenzy ahead of the Tyne Wear derby this weekend, TSP Fulfilment had a busy week supporting two incredible charities on both sides of the divide.
Supporting The Alan Shearer Foundation, we provide fulfilment services for their hoodies, helping raise funds and ensure donors can show their support to an organisation making a difference in the North East. The Alan Shearer Foundation supports a specialist, free-to-use centre in Newcastle for people with complex disabilities and sensory impairments.
Established in 2012, it provides specialised, inclusive facilities—including sensory rooms and a hydrotherapy pool—for over 5,000 families across the North East. Our partnership sees warehouse operatives pick and pack the items, ensuring speedy and reliable delivery to those wanting to show their colours.
“TSP have been brilliant for us,” said Matt Bowmaker, Director of The Alan Shearer Foundation. “What looks simple on the surface, getting hoodies out to people, actually plays a big part in how we raise funds and grow support. Having a team we can trust to deliver that properly makes a huge difference.”
And in the days leading up to the game itself, our head office took part in the Bradley Lowery Derby Donation initiative. The Bradley Lowery Foundation was founded in 2017 to support families fundraising for treatment or equipment not available from the NHS, as well as supporting research into neuroblastoma and childhood cancers.
Their Derby Donation scheme saw employees donate in the name of their football club to see who came out on top before the big day. “We run by the slogan that cancer has no colours,” said Brooke Mitchell, Fundraising and Family Support Worker at The Bradley Lowery Foundation.
“It does not matter who you support when it comes to supporting those facing cancer. We are over the moon to have TSP Fulfilment involved in our donation derby campaign—the funds raised last week will help us to provide vital support to so many families.”
“Ultimately we know when it comes to supporting each other as human beings there are no colours,” said Paul Griffiths, CEO at TSP Fulfilment, “but it’s been nice to add a little competition between red and white and black and white through our Bradley Lowery Derby Donation challenge. And our work with The Alan Shearer Foundation has helped them raise funds for their vital mission, which gives us a real sense of pride.”
So while we’ll not reveal how many of our staff were happy or sad by Monday morning (although two were very, very happy!), we can say that it’s been a brilliant week helping support two incredible causes that are making a difference across our region.
Hoodies from The Alan Shearer Foundation are available to buy here, while you can make your own donation to the Bradley Foundation online.
