TikTok has proven to be a highly favoured social media platform, with over 1.7 billion active users in 2023.
TikTok Shop is a new built in app feature that allows merchants, brands, and creators to showcase and sell products directly on TikTok through in-feed videos, LIVES, and product tabs, without the use of third-party apps and websites
It is particularly favoured by ‘Gen Z’ consumers, with 32% of Gen Z reporting that they make an online purchase at least once per day – the most out of any generation!
What is TikTok Shop Fulfilment?
TikTok Fulfilment refers to the process whereby orders are received on the app, then they are picked, packed, and shipped directly to the customer.
TikTok orders can be fulfilled in-house, through a 3PL (Third Party Logistics) company, or through the ‘Fulfilled by TikTok’. We will explore TikTok fulfilment options in further detail later on.

Exploring your TikTok fulfilment options…
As mentioned, there are 3 methods of fulfilment when it comes to your TikTok orders, which include;
- In-house fulfilment
- Fulfilled by TikTok
- 3PL provider
TikTok Fulfilment; In-House
Fulfilling orders in-house means that you, or your team (if you have one) will pick, pack and ship orders yourself directly from your warehouse, storage facility, home, etc.
Though, it is worth noting that TikTok requires all orders to be shipped within 4 business days, so if you are keeping your operations in-house then its important that you ensure orders are shipped within that time-frame.
TikTok Fulfilment; Out-sourcing
Outsourcing your TikTok to a 3PL means that your goods will be shipped to a 3PL warehouse. Upon arrival, the 3PL will store your products in their warehouse, then when an order is received, they will pick, pack, and ship your order directly to your customer or retailer if you are doing B2B.
FBT; Fulfilled By TikTok.
If you are familiar with FBA (Fulfilled by Amazon), then you will understand that FBT is a similar concept. Fulfilled by TikTok is a logistics service whereby TikTok will store, picks, packs, and ships your orders directly to the customer.
Much like FBA, there are certain requirements when using the Fulfilled by TikTok service and this means extra prep work will be required in order to ensure you are complying with their guidelines and rules.
